MWTA’s committee members attended the opening ceremony of the Malaysia-China Trade Expo 2019 organised by the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCIM) and Guangzhou Convention & Exhibition Center Co., Ltd. China. on Thursday, 7th Nov held at PWTC, Kuala Lumpur.

The event was sponsored by the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, China; Guangdong Economy & Trade office in SEA (KL) and Foshan Bureau of Commerce to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Malaysia.

After the opening ceremony at 10 am, Sin Chew Daily interviewed our President, Mr Mark Seng who explained the objectives of MWTA and shared one of our upcoming event, the International Watch Fair Malaysia in 2020.

A conference meeting was held after lunch with Guangzhou Watches and Clocks Association and Guandong Province Horology Association. It is understood that China will be manufacturing and distributing China brand watches in Malaysia and we encourage them to invest in Malaysia by setting their manufacturing and assembling plants locally here with us.

This is a great opportunity for MWTA to bridge the gap for our members in the local watch industry who are interested to work with China’s watch industry, namely Guang Zhou Watches and Clocks Association and Guangdong Province Horology Association.

MWTA believes this will be a good and positive collaboration between our two countries’ watch industry. Here’s to great future ties with China.
