The Malaysian Watch Trade Association was concerned about the consequences on the Malaysia Watch Industry and its members that timepieces (all types of wrist watches and clocks) were not included in the proposed list of goods exempted from the SST (Sales and Service Tax), which will be introduced in September this year.
A press conference was held on Monday, 30th July to point out the negative impact this will have on the watch industry and to urge the Malaysian Government to include timepieces in the list of goods exempted from the SST (Sales and Service Tax).
